Fig, Ginger, Lemon, Thyme

A classic Moscow Mule is a refreshing blend of vodka, lime, and ginger beer. We riff on this flavor profile here by infusing vodka with fig, lemon, and thyme, replacing the ginger beer with fresh ginger.
 
Enjoy the result over sparkling water for a bright, savory treat.

Next, let's make something delicious!

Inside the Porthole:

  • 130g dried golden figs
  • 15g piece of fresh ginger, skin removed, cut into thin slices
  • zest from ½ lemon, pith completely removed
  • 2 thin lemon slices, pith and peel completely removed
  • 2 sprigs fresh thyme

Liquid to be Added:

  • 8-10oz vodka

To Assemble and Serve:

Arrange the infusion ingredients inside the Porthole. Close the Porthole, tighten screw, and check the seal for good contact on both sides.

Add the vodka into the assembled Porthole through the spout.

This cocktail is best when infused at least 2 days, up to around 3  weeks.

Tips:

  • This infusion can be served simply over ice, or topped with chilled sparkling or tonic water for some extra snazz.
